It doesn't need them. The Athlon architecture is a robust, general purpose CPU that does quite well on just about any X86 code.

That's the purpose of an X86 processor, isn't it?

If you're going restrict yourself to narrowly targeted special versions of your OS and all of your applications, go ahead and get the proven platform that has years of development and testing behind it, is already 64bit, and outperforms P4. It's specially compiled applications are already out there, fully tested and ready to install. It's called Alpha. And will still run any X86 app, slowly like P4 for non-optimized apps, using FX86.
