December sell-offs (often producing at least minor lows btw., sometimes major ones):

1930,31,32,37(low in Nov.was slightly lower, THE low was made late March 38),41,46 (fluctuation around mini crash low, up in late Dec.),48,50 (small correction following uptrend),59(ditto),61 (ditto, though followed by '62 smash),68 (dip preceding '69 bear),72(beginning of 73-74 bear),76 (dip preceding 77 bear) , 77 (a doozy! made low RIGHT at year end),78,79 (both minor, but sharp sell-offs),80(off Nov. high,turned up mid Dec. to make lower high beg. Jan. 81),fini. haven't had a meaningful one in 20 years. last dip before vertical bubble take-off was in early Dec. 94, but that hardly counts.
most Decembers were somewhat non-volatile, directionless periods.
