Re: "Be careful what you wish for. Next time, the election might not be so close, or close at all. And a Democratic legislature may decide to vote in the electors for their candidate, "with the blessings of the US Constitution". The only way to stop them will be the courts"

I am careful what I wish for and I should be more clear. The reason I would like to see the Legislature give the Courts the finger is because the Legislature is the one entrusted with defining the procedure for selecting the Electors. They did that and they did it in the fashion prescribed by law. For the Court to usurp that authority was outrageous and the finger is what they deserve. In using their authority to select the Electors, the Legislature would only be carrying out what would have been the due course of events, had the procedure prescribed by law been allowed to run it's course. The Legislature should never use it's power to subvert the expressed will of the people. In my opinion, the expressed will of the people is, to the extent we can reliably and fairly conclude, that G.W.Bush is the winner of the Electoral votes of the State of Florida.
