[They need Tom Clark. It is the board seat, the industry connections, the base of knowledge in FC and storage networking? Probably all. Those GE folks probably need to know more about storage than they do.]

nishan booked a strong presence at the fctc. my factotum at the conference posits that they were keen in making their case for soip to an audience of future i/o developers, because there certainly were few customers there to sell it to. they had just secured their latest round of financing and are ostensibly on the verge of revealing product next month. i suppose they wooed tom clark back then, which shouldn't have been too hard to do given vixl's anemic performance. maybe tom will get rich on this next ipo. he is a strategic acquisition for nishan, and for the reasons you stated, i would agree.
