I agree, Nixon and Ford both took the appropriate action for the good of the country, a fact often overlooked and under appreciated. The point was, we have been through internal crisis before and we forget quickly. Elian was the "crisis" last time, who remembers it now? We just tried to impeach Clinton and now it's a fuzzy memory.

You know Clinton must be the happiest man in Washington DC right about now. Gore has completely taken the heat off him. Al is sweating bullets and Bill is in the papers going to Vietnam. The irony is amazing. Clinton is a magic man, he will walk out of the White House holding his head high and the American people won't remember a thing of his last 8 years, only that Gore was power hungry. Is this a great country or what?

Hey all, everybody go watch "South Park", mellow out and enjoy a great Thanksgiving Day tomorrow. In the words of that great American hero, Rodney King; "Can't we all just get along". Regards

As far as Watergate, Nixon put the
country first, for the second time, and step down.

I didn't think it could be topped, but you have succeeded in topping others' thoughts that "statistics prove that Democrats control all tv stations."

Scary to think there are minds like that out there...

Nixon did not, absolutely not, put the country first during the Watergate scandal. He fought tooth and nail, insisting that he knew nothing of the Watergate burglary. The cover-up, as we all know, was found to lead straight to him. Nixon only resigned when he saw that impeachment was a surety.
