First, he did not say he had no respect simply because the man was a Democrat, but because he has been using his prestige as a war hero to shill for the Gore campaign on the absentee ballot issue. Now, you may object to that, but surely not on the basis that Kerrey is a Medal of Honor winner. That is precisely why he is valuable as a spokesmen, and it only makes matters worse if he is exploiting his decoration for sullied ends. Anyway, I was reviewing posts, and just thought you used the decoration to cover Kerrey's shilling once too often. I saw the man on Hardball: he acted as if any criticism of the inconsistency of the Gore position on ballots (let true intent be known, damn the technicalities, suppress the military ballots) amounted to a slander of Gore's patriotism, which was a horribly demogogic way to deflect criticism........
