Mine output was 116 tonnes, 18 tonnes or 18.4 per cent more than in the same period of 1999. The biggest growth was recorded in Irkutsk Region and Yakutia, which boosted mine output by approximately 4 tonnes on average, Brayko said.

The Union said Russia in 1999 produced 125.87 tonnes of gold, 10.4 per cent more than in 1998. Mine output in 1999 was 114 tonnes.
