Was the FL Supreme Court TOO STUPID to read the actual case law?

The FL Legislature is going to fry them. And I will vote "NO" on all their retention votes.

Here is an interesting bit of Florida law. The link has a rather long verdict but it argues that in Florida, it is the "practice" for the workers to remove "hanging chads" themselves. Plenty of fuel for both sides in the link though.

...The supervisors of other counties also testified that remarking ballots to carry out the voter's intent was comparable to the practice previously used for punch card voting systems in their counties. In that process, incompletely detached pieces of the card known as hanging chads were removed prior to processing. [R.934, 1007] Volusia County had done the same. [T.988-93 ] It remains the practice to remove hanging chads in many counties where punch card systems are used. [T. 567]
