Re: Thermometers may not be quite correct. Proxy records say the global temperature has not increased in the past 20 years

Yes, why rely upon direct measurements that contradict what you sponsor wants to hear when you can substitute an interpreted proxy.

Here is who this guy works for:

SCIENCE & ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY PROJECT MOVES TO FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
In January 1995, the Science & Environmental Policy Project moved to Fairfax, joining Atlas, the Institute for Humane Studies, The Locke Institute, and the Center for Market Processes at "4084 University Drive" near George Mason University. Atlas provided a grant to IPPS to facilitate the move and help fund the organization... Atlas invites other institutes to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the proximity of SEPP. The organization's founding president, Dr. S. Fred Singer, is a well-known physical scientist who has been an active contributor in the battle against the "politicization" of science.

The Atlas Economic Research Foundation works with think tanks and individuals around the world to advance a vision of a society of free and responsible individuals, based upon private property rights, limited government under the rule of law and the market order

Atlas is a 501(c)(3) organization that is supported entirely through by gifts from individuals, philanthropic foundations, and corporations. Its goal is to bring freedom to the world by encouraging independent public policy research by think tanks.

Without the generosity of donors, Atlas would be unable to pursue its many projects. Among the benefactors that have aided our work tremendously in recent years, we include:
