george, neither the secretary of state nor the fl supreme court gave us alternatives that most would deem fair.

bush's argument that if you use machines to count then you live with the result doesn't jive with fl law.

the supreme court effectively changed the rules of the election under the guise of interpreting the law. would bush have requested hand recounts if he new they would count and that a deadline written in law would be moved back?

he can't using his current argument - which is why i think it is a mistake.

the fl supreme court disn't have the voters of fl in mind when they made their decision. they had democratic voters in mind. period. the deadline wasn't fair so they changed it. alowing hand counts in only democratic counties isn't fair so they left it alone...
