Let 'em watch..the world has been watching in bewilderment and envy for a couple of centuries. This crazy system...works. The election process is more than just of the people, by the people, and has been for some long time.
That's why the electoral process came into being. It is a very long explanation, people have spent pages and ages discussing it. There are parts that apparently need to be updated, that were never anticipated. A living changeable system is, in my opinion, desirable...ie.. adapt or die..my motto.
I feel it in no way belittles the office in question, this attempt to keep the process going as close as possible to the way it is intended. The people involved in the mechanics of the electoral process..the machine, if you will, have always been tempted by corruption and power..it seems to be the way...of all governments..the job of the rules/laws/judicial system....is to attempt to keep them under some semblance of control. It could be better, but it so far, it works. This current situation is bringing the awareness of the people up to a much higher plane..I feel this is good.
