Ron: I think you have hit upon another key point on why the economic boom took flower under the Democratic administration of the past eight years. You were correct in that the best thing that Washington can do often is to stay the hell out of the way. Republicans try too hard to micro-manage everything, including the economy. Too many Repubs have the mentality of a Prussian filing clerk and try to control everything. The Dems are more apt to say, "Hands off. If it's going OK, don't mess with it." The Repubs are more apt to say: "Things are going well, but if I tinker with it, I can make it work even better." Then they drop a monkey wrench into the gears of progress.
