Just to respond to companies to watch and buy in the optic market, there is one company out there that has practically all of the recommended companies as customers (SCMR, JNPR, Corvis, CSCO, NT, CIEN.....) that company is AMCC.

I think we are quite a ways away from the all optical network where no chips are required. Possibly we will never get there. AMCC is the one chip company best positined for optics and with a minimum of legacy business (they do do a lot of SONET and some ATM, but not nearly as tied to it as PMCS).

So I'd add AMCC to the less risky category.

mact, Robert Duke,an techplayer, I just want to say to you all, that I for one, appreciate so much your recent contributions. I also feel the same way towards Frank A. Coluccio, K maxwell, tinkershaw, Raymond Duray, r. edwards, Victor Lazlo, and Landisman.

The group brain storming process, of putting it out there, and getting feed back, for me, is starting to go somewhere. I for one am back to looking at the overall broad band networking group. That would be, Co.s that are enhancing the broadband networking build out, in the ethernet space, and co.s that are enhancing the optical network, in the fiber space. I just don't see how this critical area of technological developement, is not going to remain viable and robust, come what may, as the co.s for 21 century, depend on, the on going developement of bandwidth.

hi i'm an oldly for been here for years, always just read, but i agree 100 % with your theory/plan, i currrently own avnx, newp, digl and mrvc, which i've had for years, back when it was a penny stock, your right its the real sleeper in the group, with the recent spinoff, it almost doulbled the market cap and no one realized it.i recently sold jnpr, amcc when they both got crushed, but have full intention of buying back real soon.. i keep holdinng digl, they are a pure play too, and their doing oc-192..testing/monitoring equipment, i really believe they will smoke next quarters estimates, if i can stop the bleeding by then..
