And the wireless providers are no different with their phone giveaway plans. The point I was trying to make is that spectrum cost may well be very nominal compared to the rest of the charges that the telecom companies foist on us. There is the wireline fee, caller ID fee, call forwarding, three way calling etc.

And for that matter, Banks are one step ahead charging all kinds of fees - for check writing, checks, bounced checks, etc.
