It has been mentioned here by someone else already, but Chris Matthews had an interesting comment the other day. Matthews said, that in this race the fact that there may be a dimple on Gore or Bush indicates that the voter could not commit to that choice, and may have elected to just not vote.

In other words, people don't like either of these two. This of course is as much of a reach as the whole intent argument.

I will agree that if all the punchs on the ballot, for all the races, are dimpled, then some consideration should be given that the ballot was blocked or that the person punching was feeble.
