Hey Line Man,

I am a Republican in an Irish Democrat family. Think you got it tough? When my dear grandfather was still alive and I started seeing the republican light - we had great arguments. He was an Irish cop - man he was true blue demi - 30 years ago - today I think he would be a Republican - the left has moved.

Bob

I sympathize with you being surrounded. (by Republicans)

My sister is a Democrat who seems to believe that Republican politicians are the root of all evil.

We only discuss politics in terms of how various outcomes affect the stock market.

LineMan: I hope you survived your Thanksgiving from hell with all of your right-wing relatives. I am in a similar boat. I have an idiot brother-in-law who e-mails me a bunch of right-wing propaganda every other day. In terms of personal happiness (I'm married to a registered Republican who I believe voted for Bush), I'd just as soon see D-Dubya-I win than witness even greater volcanic anger from slightly less than half of the country for four more years. I tried to buy some drill bits at Sears the other day but had to wait in line three extra minutes while the gal in front of me and the sales clerk cut down every "damn Democrat" in the country first.
