I am confused with this Palm beach count. I read about 700 or so disputed ballots while I notice they refer to thousands. I don't get it. How many are they going to examine?

JW, I've never understood why someone would turn around and go home because they think the election already had been decided. I live in Texas, cast a vote for Gore knowing that it was a wasted effort but doing it out of a sense of personal responsibility to have my vote heard. If someone turned around and went home, they don't deserve to have their vote counted -- they are ignorant or apathetic. To me, this is more unforgivable than someone with arthritic fingers or voting for the first time having a bit of difficulty punching through a ballot.

I'll bet if I found one of those who turned around and asked whether ignorance or apathy caused them to not vote, the answer would be "I don't know and I don't give a damn."
