Trout I have been strictly catch and release in moving water for many years. We do keep the odd one out of some of the stocked lakes in BC, but just enough for a meal or two while in camp. Salmon I only play with on the fly in the rivers, but I do murder them in the salt water, or used to....my smoked salmon is just too good. But with the devastation of the Coho and Chinook stocks on this coast, I've left the salmon pretty much alone for the last two years.
