Agreed, I don't think the USSC will get involved. I don't think it wants to. Unfortunately, I see this morning that Al has decided that he will contest the FSC's decision to stay out of its recount deadline ruling.

It appears to me at this point, and I am not as learned as you are on this, that the rest of the Democratic party is becoming a bit concerned with the longer term repercussions of Al's actions. The "I must win at any cost" concept is ingrained in Al much deeper than many of his supporters realize. I think that fact alone will contribute in a large way to his demise as a politician.

The sadness I feel is simply that of someone who wants this to be over so we can just move ahead. I have a suspicion that there are animosities forming in the House and the Senate that will be more difficult to resolve the longer this goes on.
