Alan, assuming your question "Don't the lemmings usually bail near a bottom?" wasn't rhetorical, my only thoughts to such a general question are ....firstly...

..I commonly only hear the derrogatory expression 'lemming' when the market has bounced and some long is in the black on a stock. I think a number of those clever 'longs' are currently hurting as a lot of hi-flying tech stocks have broken thru numerous levels of support without much hesitation. Secondly ....
....from what I have seen, it isn't the retail investor who is bailing tech.... they are buying ... as in... distribution. I need evidence that fund money is going back into tech rather than selling it and rotating into the pharms or power or utilities, before I can look for anything other than an oversold bounce.

Personally, I'm not going to try and lead the market in a short term trend reversal when there's no evidence that its hapening. I'll follow it where-ever it goes... and be ready to switch back.

Regards

Stephen
