I'm really proud of GW for showing the corrupt, partisan system for what it really is. We're watching the sausage being made. One clue as to the purity of GW's motives will be what his administration does to rectify the situation with military ballots, should he win the Presidency (I'd give a Bush win about a 70/30 chance right now). He will gain modest points with me if he follows through and makes sure that military ballots are fairly processed throughout the country. If, as I suspect, there is a brief fuss and then the whole thing is forgotten without any meaningful national action, then I'd put his principles right about where you put Gore's. Well, actually, I put Gore's principles pretty close to where you do, the big difference between us is that I think both presidential candidates are pretty much the same in that department. BTW, re "If the Repubs had the most to gain from military ballots, it makes no sense that they would be the ones to "routinely toss them out", the "routinely toss them out" remark came from a Republican election commissioner in a northern Florida county. She said it during an NPR interview.
