Thanks for the WSJ opinion...totally agree, BTW! One thing I've wondered about was mentioned in this article, and in fact discussed it today....That is: WONDER EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS HOUR AND A HALF TIME PERIOD on Nov 8th???....WHO CALLED GORE?????? WITH WHAT "news"/"threat"/or any number of other things:??????????? WHAT HAPPENED TO MAKE HIM CHANGE HIS MIND???? And probably an even bigger question is: WHAT is SO IMPORTANT that he win? He and his team are making up and changing rules as they go.....Has ANYONE asked themselves this question????? Personally, I think this is the most distressing part of the entire situation....

It now appears that the key moment in this election was 3:45 a.m., November 8. That was when Al Gore telephoned George Bush and withdrew the concession he had made at 2:15 a.m. when Governor Bush had a lead of 1,725 votes. In retrospect, the 2:15 concession qualified as the sort of statesmanship many have called missing in action during all this litigation
