It seems to me that if one feels so strongly about something, one would want to convert others to one's point of view. Just repeating the same slogans over and over and louder and louder isn't going to change anyone's mind. Converting other requires an understanding of how the others look at things and then framing your message to resonate with them.

Yes, I have been trying to figure this one out. There seem to be few partisan supporters that are attempting to bring in the opposition to their point of view through inclusion. The most disturbing are those that state "it is obvious that any reasonable person would see..." and then go on to state their view regarding how unfair and immoral the opposition has been.

I wonder if people are missing the math of all this. The current margin of difference in Florida is 1 vote in 6000 with the equivalent of about 100 votes undetectable by the machines.

The margin of difference nationwide in support of Gore is 1 vote in 250. Neither of these are within the margin of error of our voting process. So no one can claim that they have the "obvious" moral right to this election. And no one can claim that either party has "stolen" the election.

So you might think that the different sides would make some effort to acknowledge the value of some of their oppositions views. But instead you see this odd form of moral outrage with people behaving as though they actually think their candidate would never do what the opposition is doing - if the roles were reversed.
