nadine, they are both luh-oosers, imho. gore deserves some minimal credit for suggesting a statewide manual recount when he felt the tide run against him.

bush is a dope, imho. both candidates are an insult. one will increase the debt through tax relief that will only speed up inflation. the other will balloon the debt by trying to turn us into europe style socialism where they actually have BIG incentives to not work.

i can't believe so many people fall for the republican style tax cuts. logic says that an equal tax cut for everyone leads to a net 0% increase in purchasing power. more money = more demand = higher prices = higher interest.

the REAL game NO REPUBLICAN TALKS ABOUT is to get more of a tax cut than everyone else. the richest folks will get an actual tax cut. middle america's tax cut will all but be negated by higher inflation, higher interest rates, etc. yet middle america falls for this republican crap.

is a $200 tax break for a family that can barely put food on the table equal to $100,000,000 tax cut? the republicans would tell you yes (i say would b/c they don't like to talk about it).

they are actually duped into voting against their self interest! i cringe when some dude making $10-15 per hour supports a flat tax. take the above argument and put it on steroids.

leave the status quo on the tax and spending side. pay down the debt. reprioritize current expenditures if need be. cut out the fat to the good old person network.

never happen.

In short, we've got a fine pair of "worthy adversaries" on our hands :-(

> I blame both candidates for not agreeing on a full manual recount. I blame the Florida legislature for the anarchic mess of Florida election law. I blame
> Gore for unleashing more sharp lawyers and lawsuits. I blame Bush for attacking manual recounts, which are part of the system, and trying to turn
> them into a circus.
