(At this point I just want it to be over and to find a few dollars of my boys' college education funds remaining.)

My portfolio was very green today. Hope yours was, too. I would hate to see your kids deprived of higher education. However, even if they were, having been raised by you, they would likely be better educated than most people with degrees.

Regarding natural homes, my view of the Republican Party is "fool me twice, shame on me." Way back in the old days when I was a sweet, young thing, I learned the hard way that many of their alleged principles, which I shared, were merely code words for views that I definitely did not share. Particularly distressing at the present time is the matter of Bush trusting the people to make their own decisions while he would deny them the most personal of choices in medical and religious matters. If the moderates ever take back the party, I'll give them another look. Meanwhile I'll stay an independent.
