Now that you've announced that you will be hiding people in your attic, don't you think you should post your snail mail address?

You are correct that this was a statistical tie. If either candidate claims a mandate because he weasels his way into office, he should disqualify himself based on delusional behavior and give the race to the other guy.

From a stock market perspective, it doesn't matter who takes the office (note that I did not say "who wins"). Looks like the senate will go 50/50, which is very good news for gridlock. We won't have a "winner" in the White House, but at least there will be someone in charge on Jan 20 who received the votes of approximately half the population -- much better than we see in many countries.
