How about, AMD's current mass production CPU outperforms Intel's not-widely-available-for-6-to-9-months future CPU on 90+% of all X86 applications?

I don't think it gets much better than that.

And Intel won't have a process that can build high volumes of P4 for 9 months, and that's if every aspect of the ramp goes perfectly. The market is wide open to AMD's existing volume processor for at least 9 months. AMD has zero risks for that period as a minimum.

Meanwhile Intel can only pray that AMD's SMP and mobile versions don't start shipping - Intel is defensless against them.
