i think once over 50% of households are in stocks, with the savings rate below zero, and household debt at new highs in both absolute terms and relative to disposable income, the wealth effect may be considerable.

agree on the retailers running into a cost push inflation problem...

As a proud short of COF and MBI, I hope the retailers have the BEST Christmas season in history...and the credit card companies have the WORST default season in history in Q1 '01!!!<NG>
