Gorton Seeks $1.2 Million for Yakama Indian Nation Timber Project
Washington D.C. – U.S. Senator Slade Gorton (R-WA) is continuing his effort to help the Yakama Indian Nation fight the spruce budworm epidemic that is threatening to destroy its tribal forest lands. Gorton's efforts to secure $1.2 million for the tribe cleared a key appropriations panel today and is expected to move quickly through the Senate.

Cantwell carried 5 counties out of 39 and still won the election. From the view atop the Space Needle, a candidate can see all of the votes necessary to carry the State of Washington. Gorton was able to demagogue the issue of possible dam removal on the Snake River but still lost the election. I am convinced his "special interests" actions in the US Senate finally caught up with him.

Gorton has been the #1 worst pusher of clear-cutting and timber interests his entire career. Glad to see him gone.

Schumpeter was very pessimistic about the future of capitalism. He wrote that the beneficiaries would be intellectually incapable of understanding the sources of their bounty.

AS, ever wondered why you're not freezing in a cave, littered with the bones of your recent dead, wishing you had a few more grubs for dinner?
