Dan3, Not so. If they cancel the count then the Fla legislature makes the pick. The Fla house is Republican.
The feds have it in Supreme court now and from what I can deduce Bush's only hope is the unfairness of only recounting 3 zones that are known Democratic strongholds. That does sound unfair as why not select 3 Republican strong holds of the same population and count them as well? or count them all again. Can of worms is what it is. the whole country holds their breath, the market drifts and droops. Any decision would be better than no decision.
As for the pregnant chads, watch them and see if Dems or Repubs are born
I though Gore won Palm Beach with a large majority....why recount that one?
the more I think about it the less fair a selective recount is!!

Re: The Democrat controlled recounters, trying to overturn the election, can count all they want to...

If the Florida electors are disqualified, then Gore wins, since he currently leads by a substantial margin in the electoral college.

Dan,

Hope you had a nice T-giving.

As for these Floridians, maybe we should stop for just a second and think about this whole scenario......since this fiasco began, all they have done is complain about carpet baggers and the like, and how their laws are being subverted. And have you watched some of them on tv? Talk about third worlders. And worse, they have turned things around to try and make it look like its our fault....I mean, hello!......who were the ones who didn't get things straight the first time on election nite. Soooooo, I ask why are we putting up with it? What's the loss if they secede....clearly, they can't count.

We would go back to having peaceful elections where there is little if any cheating, I mean, miscounting. Where we find out who our president is the same day we vote. Sure there would be $$$ lost over the spaceport but think of all the $$$ we would save not having to fix their Big Swamp and bailing them out after every hurricane that hits their precious little peninsula. And I bet you they will continue to sell their orange juice to us cheap.....they will need all the dollars they can get their hands as they sink back into banana republic status. Of course we will miss Disney World and South Beach....but again I am sure they will court our tourist dollar.

Making matters even better...they even can take dubya off our hands...make him the Secretary of Foreign Affairs....of course he would have to learn the names of our new president and the prime minister of Canada....but I think he is up to it.

So maybe we need to stop defending what's going on and let them just get hassled and hassled.....until they are really fed up and raise the confederate flag again.

It looks to me like we having everything to gain and nearly nada to lose. <g>

Dan,

re:"If the Florida electors are disqualified, then Gore wins, since he currently leads by a substantial margin in the electoral college."

You might consider reading some of the old paperwork laying around which is over 200 years old.

It talks about electors and each state's legislature and the US house of representatives.

When liberals can get lawyers and the courts to overturn the legislative branches of our country, you should be concerned.
