I disagree with the conclusion that QCOM's position is weaker this year then last.

If anything, it is even stronger.


I wasn't agreeing with the MF position, only posting it. I'm with you, I think Q is in much better shape with respect to 3G than ever before. However, I am concerned a little, at least in the short term, that the NTT DoCoMo position that 3G won't deliver on its promises may get a lot of play, and typical sycophantic agreement by many who should know better, and all 3G technologies will be painted with this same brush.

It's rubbish, of course. Even NTT DoCoMo must know that. Why on earth would you denigrate W-CDMA out of one side of your mouth and buy a 20% stake in AWE to get them to use out of the other?
