Thanks for the tip on Del Friscos. I think the highlight of our mini-vacation (at least for me) was Sunday buffet brunch at the historic Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg. Personal letter from Happy Chandler in 1949 to the owners (same family, more than a century) is framed on one of the walls. We feasted on country ham, corn pudding, 25 other dishes, and, for dessert, bread pudding topped with real whipped cream and whisky sauce. After lunch we sat out on rocking chairs in front of the mansion and listened to the mockingbird. That's about as close to heaven as I've been in a long time.
