>>The FL Supreme Court said that SOS Harris must accept the amended returns filed by 5:00 pm Sunday.<<

True. But it didn't say WHEN she had to certify them. That much is certain.

The second point is that even though the Supreme Court ordered Ms. Harris to accept the amended returns, she still has the ability to refuse to certify the amended returns.

There is a great misunderstanding in this country which leads people to believe that law is what judges say. Untrue. Law is what the legislature writes. And Ms. Harris' duty is mandated by the legislature. She has the authority to refuse to do what the Supreme Court tells her to do, and if so, she will be in contempt of court. But otherwise they have no power over her.

Courts don't have armies, they don't have police forces. They can order a sheriff to sieze her and put her in jail, and that's all.

The constitutional principle of separation of powers isn't a mere curiosity. It's the bedrock of our freedom.
