lml,

I am glad you raised the issue that we need some standard; we have one set in FLA law yet the FSC overturned it usurping power they do not possess.

FLA law as I understand it, allows for a hand recount if there is machine error, or fraud. We had none. Miami-Dade TWICE voted to not proceed with the manual count as they did not see any significant reason to do so- and the GoreStapo sued them....TWICE.

It also stipulates that the results be in no later than 5PM 7 days after the election. This is unambiguous, yet the Dem spinsters would not have you believe such since they also sued for this. If it rains tonight wetting some of the ballots, I firmly believe we will see a case Gore et al vs. Mother Nature.

At this point, assuming Gore pulls out the "victory" for lack of a better word, who will be in office come January 20th.....Gore or his legions of lawyers?

Brian

. It is quite probable that dimpled ballots will declared indeterminate unless there is convincingly clear evidence other than the dimple itself to indicate the voter's intent.

The present legal activities sure would be a lot more subdued if Bush's attornies had thought to argue this sort of essential point PRIOR to the Fla SC issuing its Initial ruling. It certainly would have gone a long way to reduce the ole vitupertive epithet on this thread and in the country.
