Chris - As the Most High God reminds us in the final part of Daniel 5:21 that HE appoints anyone HE desires to reign over "the kingdoms of men", I, for one, shall be humbling myself several times a day asking God to "appoint" George W. Bush to the presidency. If the votes can be "so close in number", I wonder how "close in number" the prayer requests to Heaven are!

Chris/I2

What makes the two of you think that America has given up on God? I would not agree with that statement at all.

I think this is a period of time in America's history where there is more interest in spirituality than ever before.

Check out the best sellers list at any given time. There are more books onthe best seller list over the past few years that deal with spirituality than there ever has been before. Go to Barnes & Noble, the sections on Spirituality and religion are amongst the largest if not the largest sections.

There are TV shows that are centered around spirituality that run during prime time. (I agree that they don't deal in the heavier issues, but it certainly beats Starsky & Hutch) There are currently large amounts of seminars and retreats that deal with spirituality, people in great numbers are attending these conferences.

There is a great interest in spirituality in this country. If anything, I feel that the interest level is rising.
