Be it noted that the Republicans were the first to use physical violence and intimidation to get their way. And in a public building. Unsurprisingly, this was applauded on the editorial pages of the WSJ.

Welcome to the Weimar Republic.

Wiz,

>Bush signed a law to count dimpled ballots, and supported hand counts.. yet now they are the root of all evil..lol<<

I agree with you. A lot of spin is coming from the Bush camp. I don't like it, but it's within a range that isn't making me crazy. I expect that much from both sides.

I don't know the details of the Bush recount procedures, but I think there are state standards that limit some of the nonsense we are seeing in Florida. I also understand there is NO automated recount prior to the manual count. There is ONE recount. So there are some "almost" defensible differences. He is being disingenuous at most.

The following is an example of something that IS making me crazy. There's been a series of actions just like it reported - and they all came from the Dems.

The Dems are saying that the reason one of the counts was stopped was because of Republican intimidation. Actually, the reason was because Gore was picking up very little in the way of votes and the only remaining areas to count were the Cuban areas where Bush did very well.

So not only are they limiting the recounts to the areas of the state where Gore had an advantage. They are micro-managing that to the neighborhoods within those areas.

That's a lot different than trying to prevent a "potentially biased" recount (ho ho ho) to occur when you already have the thing won. One is an obvious response - even if disingenuous. The other is borderline fraud and a clear attempt to steal.

because he would do ANYTHING to win ...

wiz, it certainly looks like it ... I wonder if he'll excoriate the U.S. Supreme Court too, if they rule against him?
