I doubt we will find legitimacy. But eventually someone will be President. Whether it is MR Gore of Mr Bush I predict a one termer. I predict a bad market, and slowing economy and perhaps even a real recession. Don't have to be much of a prognosticator to see the boom times ending. Whoever "wins" will lose.

Sig: you expect the Supreme Court to bring "non-partisan legitimacy?" Au contraire! It was the Republican doberman Baker who first and strongly labeled the FL Supremes as partisan---when he didn't like the ruling. I didn't notice him complaining when they declined to force Miami-Dade to continue recounting. They are the ones undermining the legitimacy of the judiciary, and by taking their case to the Supremes and asking them to rule on a states rights issue, they are the ones putting the Supreme Court in a position of becoming a partisan body.
