Unionism Is Not Some Political Toy That Those With.......

Aspirations of Dominance should employ, nor those with other areas of stress should entertain.

Too Many Union " Leaders " , are failed examples of their trade looking for alternatives so as to escape the very shackles they so deplore.

Most are looking for a way out of the drudgery they themselves help to create, through intimidation and strict adherence to a set of unwritten rules, that more often than enough, stifle the very nature of the majority of individuals to do the best they can to fulfill a desire to be productive and contribute to the betterment of their employer or community.

From the company’s perspective , they become a necessary evil , or an ongoing annoyance, but often bridge the gap between an employer having to deal directly with human resource issues, that may place them in a libelous position if the employee were to address issues that employers would rather be left to a UNION rep.

If there were an ideal place to work, it would be a place where all participants get to share the gains or losses of a company on an ongoing basis, and be kept abreast of changing competitive forces and the individual’s responsibility to meet the challenge ,but that is not the case normally.

Thus you have the UNION/MANGLEMENT equation that lead many successful people within their own right, to abandon ship and strike out on their own , only to find out how difficult it can really be to go it alone.

Yet they tend to find the challenge rewarding , even when they fail ., as the freedom they enjoy far outweighs the security they embraced as UNION members , shackled by complacency and indifference to their employer’s own efforts to turn a profit, and the employer’s underling’s propensity to buffer their own incompetence within a structure that protects themselves when problems arise.

There are no easy answers to UNIONISM and PURIST CAPITALISM.

It is best left up to the individuals to decide for themselves, weighing their own aspirations.

END OF LECTURE. <g>
