Of course, NOT! It's only bad if the gain is on Gore's side. The Republican is trying to protect the constitution by trying to shut down the vote count. The constitution is deemed either strong or weak depending on what's at stake for the GOP.

When prosecuting Clinton is the order of the day, the constitution is so strong and resilient that they can use it to wrap mud to throw it his way.

When the chance to capture the WH is real, it is so weak that allowing the process to run its course is endangering the republic (probably they really mean the Republican party).
