In regard to manual recounts, I am not "buying into" anything less than a complete recount of all votes in a County . To do less would be a statistical nightmare. 1. It one accepts a recount of only 10000 dimpled ballots out of 900,000, then one must accept the machine recounts for the other 890000 and swear that the machine count has been completely accurate while at the same time claiming that manual counts are more accurate (which was the excuse used for requesting the manual count ). 2. If only 100 of 600 precincts are recounted manually, and Gore is gaining 100 votes per 100 precincts one cannot extrapolate that to mean Gore would gain 600 votes overall because if the most Democratic precincts were counted first he would be gaining the most from them while later uncounted Republican precincts advantageous to Bush would have reduced that 600 to an unknown value. However, being a Bush supporter, I might be happy with extrapolation in Palm Beach county where Bush is gaining votes as the count progresses.haha. Just don't ask me to sign the papers which submit the data as a true accurate and complete( ?) result of a partial manual recount to the Sec. of State. Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. The Court told the lady she HAS to sign and approve whatever is submitted?. Might as well eliminate her electorial position. Will wait to see if the Supreme Court gives her back her old job. Sig
