What about King George's behavior? Some unreasonable Democrat citizen may wonder why he did not take the hint from the majority (albeit a tiny majority) that they want Gore to be their president. He could conceivably concede based on his own trust of the people. That would unmistakably clear up any doubt about his own thrist for power. Now, reasonable people on both side would hate to see that. They want him, just like they want Gore, to stay the course. Fight it through the end. The way the country is split, Clinton is riding into the sunset and Hillary is only beginning to form her own, this kind of close election will be here to stay. The biggest service they both can do to the country is to set in place a clear process for ascertain close elections.
