Sam P... "A Republican riot squad in Miami shows GOP will try to win at all cost..."

And I know the Democrats are not.

I'm still looking for Eric Alterman's article on Jesse Jackson and his group that was bussed into Florida. Have you seen it?

Sam,

I believe the canvassing board in Miami Dade said that they could not finish a manual recount by Sunday. They also said they screwed up the second recount. I guess you position is that they are lying and the real reason is they were intimidated.

If the canvassing board will lie about their reasons for terminating the recount I suppose they will lie also about the manual recount. <G>

Re: it is distinctly possible that the 2000 election will be decided by a bunch of riotous thugs, operating under the direct control of the Republican Party.

Tastefully attired in shirts of the appropriate brown, one would hope. They have a long tradition to uphold.

Dan

PS - Of course, I'd love to see the son of Richard J. Daley cheering on police squads sent to break up the demonstrations of a bunch of conservative radicals. He could exclaim "the police aren't there to create disorder, they are there to preserve disorder." All the Mother Jones liberals would be cheering the police while the Limbaugh conservatives condemned them.
