They might be short the 65's, long the 40's, short the 30's picking that as a bottom or a price they'd buy at anyway.

And does it mean anything, or is
this kind of volume 4 months out normal for NVLS?

Many of these puts are probably part of a spread. (sell puts and buy calls) A stock like NVLS is needed for these spreads because it has great volatility. Wherever NVLS is now it will be both seven points higher and seven points lower over the next 45 days.

When NVLS and GSNX finish the merger earnings for the combined company will be very impressive. Hopefully the stock price reflect this.

Regards, Jerome

Howdy Alan, sorry for the delay in responding but I've been keeping my distance from the market recently. Two losers in a row for me on NVLS...not anxious to make it three stikes. As far as the options, could be naked put sellers (something I'm considering), spreads as others have mentioned etc. I'll take a look at the time and sales data tonight and see if I can form any kind of conclusion. Unfortunately, on options with heavier volume, trying to discern the buyers/sellers intent can be kind of like reading dimpled chads<g>. Apparently NVLS has some kind of mid-quarter CC tomorrow?

Thanks,

sf
