Do you understand what this is about? What started this amounted to a claim that all children should have equal resources available to raise them. My answer is that short of pure communism, that is not achievable. And pure communism is also not achievable. The attempts to achieve it, such as Pol Pot's, have been unmitigated disasters that no sane person would want to claim. I was pointing out some of the advantages that wealth confers and challenging them to come up with a system that would remove them without bringing Pol Pot back to life. And I fully agree with you about self-respect, AKA self-esteem. It must be earned. "Shallow life"? Look at the Kennedy kids.
