Allright, about my trip to Sharper Image, here's the deal. Forget the Wee-Bots. They are lame. Overall though, a very nice store, well stocked and plenty of freindly help. Really, the people in there were very helpful. I wound up spending over 1-1/2 hours in the store, playing with the toys, looking at different things, and getting my back massaged in their massage chairs. I found all kinds of things that sparked my interest. From the foot massager for my wife to the baby monitor, etc. I should have spent more money than I did, but I was in a hurry this time. It was all I could do to keep from sticking the nose-hair groomer in my nose...and I wondered how many people had already done it...Hehe
The most interesting thing I noticed about the store was that everything they sold, had their name on it. There was a permanantly placed sticker, or emblem on every product in the store saying "Sharper Image". Looked like about 10% of their products were actually invented by them too.

I bought the sccoter with the shocks and skipped the Wee-Bots. There was a very large remote control Volkwagen Beetle that made all kinds of neat sounds. When you turned the key on on the remote, the car started up. You could rev the engine with a button and beep the horn with another. The faster you went, the louder the engine roared. It was the perfect size for putting Barbie Dolls in and it could easily seat 2 of them. I didn't buy one, but I am thinking.
Having a tough time with the price and wondering if it won't be cheaper next month.

The store was packed, there was a line to the register the whole time I was in there, and it was hard to get out of there without buying something. The laser tennis was pretty neat too.

Regarding the catalog business comment. Well, they have catalogs, an easy to navigate e-commerce website, and plenty of bricks and mortar sites. From the way they consistenly promote the business, to the fact that they actually come up with their own products and inventions to sell, they seem as good as any specialty retailer I have ever seen.

Overall, I am not sure why Anthony is so adamant about belittling this company. They seem to be doing everything right to me. I would be proud to be managing this operation from what I have seen so far. And the stock charts tell me the shorts have been picking on the wrong company. But this is not a solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell the stock. It is just one man's opinions.
