Bear markets have rallies in them, just like bull markets have "corrections," so, yes, I think there will be rallies, probably one soon when the election dispute is resolved.
But that's against a backdrop of tightening credit, slower retail sales, and what so far is a mild recession that I believe began in September. How long and how deep depends on A.G., and he just signaled not to expect an infusion of liquidity in the near term.
With regard to stocks, it's a little late to sell and too early to buy, in my opinion, at least the ones I follow. So just be cautious. I don't trade options.
This next part may sound silly, but when I'm having difficulty reasoning my way through a situation, it usually means I'm not eating right and taking my vitamin supplements. If you don't have your health, the rest of this stuff doesn't matter. Just ask Dick Cheney.
