George, from a fundamental basis I think they are right but the sentiment is quite bearish IMHO. I will not rule out a substantial slide after January 1, 2001 but sharp swings may play out. The difficulty is also to anticipate who will eventually win the presidency and many switch from one group of stocks to another inducing high price swings. Momentum investors are still playing the markets and until they are not a minority the swings will continue. BWDIK Haim
