Yeah, I agree, but I'd still like to see the context. He may have been trying to illustrate something equally ugly, vicious, polarizing and insulting that came from the other side. Using that illustration is still bad judgment, IMO, but perhaps not as egregious as his words are being received out of context. So I'd like to see withhold final judgment until I see the context.

Was the context properly captured by the Republicans?

Or was it understated (which is what I think is the case).
