Hal, this is excellent. Thank you. Let's encourage more people to post similar things.

I have seen CSCO-NTAP parallels for a while, the most fundamental one of course being that of specialized boxes that take over the functions previously relegated to general-purpose computers. Difficult to believe now, but routing used to be done by regular Unix boxes running the proper software. As there are parallels in their fundamental businesses, so I think there are (and will be) parallels in the their stock performance.

When I first started investing, I remember looking at but not buying CSCO, because its P/E of 50 was "astronomical." I hope to avoid that mistake in the future.
