Good evening, Bernard -

'The Mouse that Roared' runs a close second to 'David and Goliath' in the characterizations by the press.

I think you, as well as anyone who follows this thread, realize what issues, and what alliances are at stake here. The growing size of the OFDM Forum, together with its consensual approach, suggests that Wi-LAN was well prepared to evolve agreements that were fair, and reasonable.

The opposition of Cisco to those efforts, and the approach embraced therein by companies such as Motorola, Nokia, Intersil, Infineon, Ericsson and many more, suggests again, that Wi-LAN was given little choice in the matter.

So, the matters that we spoke of more than a year ago are now coming to their logical conclusion: the outcome is far from predictable.

It is a simple question of alternatives: that Wi-LAN sought the least attractive is a strong indicator of the nature of its true competitor - true competitor, as opposed to its proxy, Radiata.

Best regards,

Jim
